1920’s Flapper Hair & Makeup

6 Apr

Tonight I had the chance to go back in time to the roaring 20’s & attend a ritzy party hosted by my county’s chamber of commerce. I, along with a few of my fellow actor friends, had the opportunity to take pictures and mingle with the guests using the proper 1920’s lingo in full out 1920’s hair and makeup. It was a great way to help promote our local community theatre. We even danced the charleston alongside a full out 1920’s big band. It was the bees knees!
Of course my favorite part of the night was doing my hair and makeup!
On the eyes I used a black gel liner as the base and then blended it up into the crease. I then blended a soft brown shadow into my crease to ad some depth. I patted a matte black shade on top of the black base to intensify it and lined my lower lash line and water line with a black gel liner. I used a matte cream colored shadow to highlight my brown one and inner tear duct. Finally, I applied a couple coats of black mascara.
On the checks I softly applied a peachy pink blush, and for the lips I used my favorite red lipstick (revlon lip butter in red velvet)

For my hair all I really did was curl it, part it on the side and pin up in pin curls. It took forever because I have so much hair but I love the finished look! What do you think?

From Flat to Fab! Conair Jumbo Hot Rollers

27 Dec

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you my newest beauty obsession, hot rollers! If you haven’t tried hot rollers before, you have no idea what you’re missing out on. Hot rollers are great for those days where you wish to make your hair look like a million bucks but don’t really have the time to spend doing it. My sister got me these conair instant heat jumbo hot rollers for Christmas and let me tell you, I am in love!

This set includes 12 hot rollers (8 jumbo & 4 super jumbo). It also includes 12 seashell clips. I like these clips because unlike others, they don’t leave those unattractive dents at the roots.

I like to put the largest rollers on the top of my head rolling backwards. I find this gives the most volume. Think supermodel hair!

Like my supermodel face? Haha
While my hair sets, I usually do my makeup or pick out my outfit for the day. You want to make sure your hair is completely cool before taking out the rollers. The longer you leave the rollers in, the longer the curls will last.

And here are the results! Just spray on your favorite hair spray and you have gorgeous voluminous hair in just 20 minutes!

What do you think?
