I’m Back!

Okay, I admit I have been neglecting my blog for quite some time. So today I am officially making the commitment to try to blog at least twice a week. No excuses! I have some exciting new things that I can’t wait to share with all of my lovely followers.

I have been thinking lately about what direction I want to take this blog in. I started to think about why I even started it in the first place. After all, what makes a woman feel gorgeous? Is it the perfect little black dress, classic red lip, and some killer stiletto heels, or is it something much deeper? Something I have learned over the years is that in order to feel beautiful on the outside you must first feel beautiful on the inside. There is a quote that summarizes what I’m talking about perfectly, “You will radiate outer beauty if you treasure inner beauty.”

For me being healthy both physically and mentally helps me feel beautiful on the outside. One thing you should know about me is that I am a huge fitness/health nut. Two years ago, I was at my highest weight at around 175lbs. I was so tired of always feeling down on myself and hating my body. I new it was time to make a change so I started exercising more and joined Weight Watchers. It’s been a loooooong road with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. I can’t even tell you how many times i wanted to quit (and did), how many times I told myself I couldn’t do it, how many times I told myself “I’ll start tomorrow.” But eventually things started getting easier. As the weight kept coming off, I started feeling better than I’ve felt in a long time. I discovered that I love pilates and running, something that I never thought I would be able to do. I love finding healthy recipes and creating new ones too! It was no longer an effort for me, it became a lifestyle change. I can proudly say that I am in the best shape of my life. At 142lbs, I have lost a total of 33lbs since 2011! I still have a little bit more to lose before I hit my goal weight, but honestly it’s not the number on the scale that matters. For me, it’s feeling happy and proud of the progress that I’ve made and didn’t think that I was capable of.

Sooooo…..I’ve decided to start using chellogorgeous as a way to share my health & fitness advice as well as my beauty bits! I will be posting some yummy recipes, my exercise routines, as well as my progress (yes there will be pictures).
